Doug Compton Sr.
Founder & CEO
Douglas Compton Sr. has more than 30 years of experience in all phases of development for retail, restaurants, hotels, and other types of commercial properties.
As a tenant representation broker for leading national companies, Doug established many long-term tenant relationships. This experience enabled him to begin developing new locations for those tenants, to facilitate their expansion into multiple markets. With his diverse experience and valuable connections, Doug became the president of the build-to-suit division for a major national developer, where he worked for 13 years.
Prior to leading CWG, Doug was an owner and founding partner in CA Commercial Development and Anchor Retail Solutions/Anchor Development. Under his leadership, CA and Anchor Development achieved growing success with a robust pipeline and focused client relationships. Across his career, Doug has managed and partnered in more than 300 development projects across the country.
Doug earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with a degree in real estate from the University of Cincinnati Carl H. Lindner College of Business.
Doug Compton Jr

Doug Compton Jr brings nearly a decade of experience in commercial real estate development, with a focus on delivering high-quality, ground-up retail projects nationwide. He began his career in construction, managing new builds for one of Panera Bread’s largest franchisees across Ohio, Kentucky, North Carolina, and Georgia.
Since joining CA Commercial Development in 2016, Doug Jr has played a key role in more than 50 development projects across 15 states. His expertise spans the full development lifecycle—from site selection and acquisitions to due diligence, entitlements, budgeting, and disposition. His work has supported national brands that includes Panera, Chipotle, Wawa, Speedway, Dutch Bros, Range USA, Popeyes, Freddy’s and Dollar Tree.
Now a Partner at CWG, Doug Jr is focused on driving new development opportunities and deepening relationships with brokers and tenants across the country. He holds a bachelor’s degree from DePauw University, where he also played collegiate baseball.
Nick Wessels
Partner
Nick Wessels brings over a decade of commercial real estate experience to the CWG Team; including development, acquisitions & dispositions, joint venture structuring, equity partnerships, asset management and leasing.
Nick began his career as an Investment Analyst with Eagle Realty Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of Western & Southern Financial Group, providing preferred equity, joint venture equity and hybrid debt-equity on a direct basis to qualified development partners and sponsors across the country. In 2020, he joined Bon Secours Mercy Health where he most recently served as Director of Real Estate Development. During his time at Bon Secours Mercy Health, Nick was responsible for managing all in-house development activities, including site selection, land acquisition, due diligence, entitlements, sale lease backs, and dispositions. Nick successfully completed over $400 million dollars’ worth of new development for Bon Secours Mercy Health across Kentucky, Ohio, Virginia, and South Carolina.
As a partner at CWG, Nick plays a key role in guiding the firm’s development strategy, client and investor relationships, and execution of projects nationwide.
Nick earned a bachelor’s degree in both Finance and Real Estate from the University of Cincinnati’s Carl H. Lindner College of Business. Nick and his wife Molly live in Crestview Hills, KY with their two kids CJ and Grace.
Dustin Marks
Partner & Managing Broker
For over 19 years, Dustin has specialized in representing best-in-class brands with their real estate needs throughout Ohio & Kentucky. In May of 2026, he joined Compton Wessels Group (CWG) to launch the CWG brokerage division as a Partner and Principal Broker. He has extensive experience creating and implementing customized growth strategies for national tenants, including: AT&T, Five Below, Honeygrow, City Barbeque, Swig Drinks, The Joint Chiropractic, Visionworks, NAPA Auto Parts, Restore Hyper Wellness + Cryotherapy, Robeks and many others.
In addition to site selection, he has experience in site disposition and leasing for national tenants and landlords, including: Realty Income, Schottenstein Property Group, Kimco Realty, Sam’s Club and Beauty Brands. Dustin is also a member of ICSC, where his contributions have extended well beyond the basic membership. He has served in various leadership roles, including Cincinnati’s Local Chair, Ohio’s State Chair, and Central Division Chair and Board Member for ICSC’s Next Generation Programs.
He also holds a Certified Retail Real Estate Professional (CRRP) designation from ICSC, recognizing a broad expertise across retail real estate finance, development, leasing, and operations. He is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati’s Real Estate Program, which has been ranked among the top 5 most influential real estate research institutions.
Jon Bybee
CFO
Jon Bybee has over 30 years of experience in the public and private accounting field with a specialization in real estate.
Jon has been with company for over a decade. Prior to joining CWG, formerly known as CA Commercial Development, Jon was a tax senior at Cooney Faulkner and Stevens LLC.
Jon earned his MBA in accounting and finance from Xavier University and his BBA from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. He currently resides in Union Township with his wife Elisia who he married in 2006. In his free time, Jon enjoys traveling, exploring new destinations, and spending time with his dog, Henry.
Mark Wilhoite
Executive Vice President of Development
Mark Wilhoite has over 25 years of diverse experience in commercial real estate with direct working experience in development, construction, operations, leasing, and tenant negotiations. He has been responsible for over three million square feet of new and redeveloped retail, office, and mixed use projects and has managed a wide range of projects from single tenant triple net roll outs to complex asset repositioning.
Mr. Wilhoite began his career as a project manager with RTKL Associates, a nationally recognized architectural and planning firm in Baltimore, MD. From there, he worked as Director of Development and Construction for Phillips Edison & Company based in Cincinnati, OH where he handled large grocery development and re-development projects as well as single-tenant drugstore development projects across the country. Mark also spent time with Regency Centers as an Investment Manager where he was responsible for grocery anchored and power center ground-up developments throughout the Midwest. Before joining CWG, previously CA Commercial Development, he worked as the Chief Development Officer for PECO Real Estate Partners where he was responsible for several large $100+ million dollar mixed-use redevelopments including one of the largest in southwest Ohio, the Kenwood Collection.
Mark earned a Bachelor of Planning and Urban Design from the University of Cincinnati College of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning (DAAP). He currently lives in Loveland, OH, with his wife Suzanne. They have three children, Taylor, Owen, and Carly and one grandson, Miles. In his free time, you will find him playing pickleball, golf, and coaching high school girl’s lacrosse.
Brad Copp
Vice President of Construction
Brad Copp has more than 25 years of project management experience in commercial property development, new construction and tenant improvement.
As a Senior Project Manager for Brixmor Properties Group, Brad managed over $100 million worth of redevelopment and tenant improvement projects in a nine-state region. Prior to joining CWG, Brad was also President of Construction for both Anchor Development and CA Commercial Development and has worked directly with Doug Compton for 10+ years.
Brad earned a Bachelor of Science degree in real estate and marketing from University of Cincinnati’s Carl H. Lindner College of Business, after spending 3 years in UC’s School of Architecture.
Brad has been married to his wife, Leslie, for 28 years, has two children, daughter Lilly who graduated from Purdue University and is a nurse in Seattle, and son Sawyer, who is studying Industrial & Systems Engineering at Virginia Tech. He and his wife currently reside in old Milford, OH.
Connor Fahrnbach
Vice President of Brokerage
As Vice President of Brokerage Services at Compton Wessels Group (CWG), Connor specializes in Retail Real Estate Solutions and Commercial Brokerage Services for clients throughout Ohio and Kentucky. Connor represents a diverse portfolio of national, regional, and local retailers, restaurants, and landlords. He plays and integral part in the tenant representation process by coordinating site selection, strategic market planning, negotiations, and real estate committee analytics or materials.
His expert market knowledge and relationships are essential in assisting Landlord’s in their effort to reposition underperforming assets, maximize the value or returns of existing properties, and leverage their real estate to achieve the best possible outcome. His market insight and client-first approach enable him to deliver data-driven strategies and results.
Max Murphy
Senior Associate
Max is a retail real estate advisor with Compton Wessels Group (CWG), specializing in tenant representation, landlord representation, site selection and retail leasing across Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. Based in Cincinnati, he works with both expanding retail brands and shopping center owners to execute growth strategies, lease space, and create value across a wide range of retail assets. His tenant representation experience includes work with brands such as Five Below, NAPA Auto Parts, Visionworks, Eyemart Express, Swig, Honeygrow, and more.
In addition to tenant representation, Max advises landlords, developers and ownership groups on the leasing, merchandising, and positioning of their shopping centers, strip centers, and mixed-use retail properties across the region. He has worked alongside ownership groups including Schottenstein Property Group, Prudent Growth, Agree Realty, and many others. Max’s expertise is centered on retail real estate throughout Southwest and Central Ohio, as well as Northern and Central Kentucky, including Cincinnati, Dayton, Columbus, Lexington, and Louisville.
Jack Walsh
Development Manager
As Development Manager at Compton Wessels Group (CWG), Jack focuses on executing our growing development pipeline, from initial site selection, through planning, permitting, due diligence, construction and finally through sale. He works closely with our team, partners, and clients to bring projects from a conceptual idea through completion. His analytical background, financial expertise, and attention to detail will be tremendous assets as we continue to expand our development platform.
Jack spent 2.5 years at Eagle Realty Group, where he worked on the commercial mortgage loan team which placed billions of dollars each year in construction and permanent debt for multifamily, industrial, and retail assets across the country.
Jack is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati where he majored in Finance and Real Estate and was very involved in the UC Real Estate Center. Jack is also a member of ULI’s Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Chapter.
Jack is an avid bass fisherman, hunter and golfer.
Katie Jarvis
Executive Assistant
Katie Jarvis works closely with leadership to keep things running smoothly and support the team behind the scenes. She’s known for being organized, dependable, and always one step ahead when it comes to managing priorities in a fast-moving environment.
Before joining the team, Katie spent several years as a Veterinary Technician. That experience taught her how to stay calm under pressure, juggle competing demands, and communicate clearly — skills she now brings into her role every day.
She earned her degree in Zoology and Premedical Studies from Miami University. Outside of work, Katie lives in Goshen, Ohio with her husband, Austin, their greyhound Winnie, and two cats, Finnegan and Taz.
